THE CAST

Marc J Rita is a company member of Tinfish Theatre
Company.  He has worked in professional theater as
an actor, director, producer for over 20 years. 
Marc has worked with Rasaka Theater, Silk Road
Theater Project, Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf,
Bailiwick Rep, The Organic Theatre, Wisdom Bridge,
Peninsula Players and various companies in Los
Angeles.  Marc is a supporter and developer of Asian
American theater in Chicago.  In 1983 he, and 8
other Asian-American actors co-founded MinaSama-No,
Chicago's first Asian-American theater company. 
Marc last appeared onstage as Vijay Gupta in Rasaka
Theatre's highly acclaimed production of The
Masrayana, at the Prop Theater, directed by Anish
Jethmalani.
 

Dustin Ayers (Yvan) returns to Blue Heron Theatre
where he preformed Harold in Master Harold and the
Boys. Other credits include Pentheus in the Bacchae
(Theater Conservatory at Roosevelt University);
Reverend Hale in The Crucible (Theatre Conservatory
at Roosevelt University); King's Messenger in Hamlet
(Buffalo Theatre Ensemble); the Bellhop in What the
Butler Saw (Borealis Theatre); Austin in True West
 (Borealis Theatre); Benvolio in Romeo & Juliet
(Ivanhoe Theatre Productions); Lysander in A
 Midsummer Night's Dream (Ivanhoe Theatre
 Productions); Fag in The Rivals (Citylit Theatre);
 Orsino in Twelfth Night (Chase Theatre); Roger in
 the Balcony (Tinfish Theatre); Leon in Fools
(Tinfish Theatre).  He was last seen as
 Cassio/Senate/Montano in Othello in Mask (Polarity
 Theatre Ensemble).  Film credits include Mitch in
Collision with Open Flame Films.
 

Darren Jones (Marc) - has been blessed with various challenging roles in over 27 professional productions since his first part as Howard Benedict in Applause! on this very stage. They include favorite portrayals such as Winin’ Boy in The Piano Lesson, Papa Shakepeare in The African Company Presents Richard III, The Kind in The Cave Dwellers and Meridian Henry in Blues for Mister Charlie – all produced here in the Fleetwood-Jourdain Theater. Other productions he has been fortunate to appear in include Love’s Light Flight at eta Creative Arts Foundation, Showboat at the Starlight Theater in Wilmette, The Pawnbroker at the Mary-Archie Theater, A Cry For Players at Timeline Theater and the world premiere of A Red Death at Chicago Theater Co. He garnered a Best Lead Actor nomination from the Black Theater Alliance in 1999. Last year he was seen as Sam in an amazing run of Nina Simone: The High Priestess Speaks at the Black Ensemble Theater.
